Design, art and ramblings of Craig Metzger
WORDS: BOB K
In this feature we bring you images, info and opinions on some
products that you can find in stores right now. Unless we
think that something's totally fucking stupid and we feel like we
really have to tell you about how stupid it is, nothing that appears
here will ever get a bad review. In short: this is the best
stuff.
Active Mailorder Monthly Pick:
Baker Andrew Reynolds ATL Gator deck and wheels
That's right, we've partnered with Southern California's best mailorder shop, Active, in order to bring you some reviews of products that they're selling right now. I'm personally really excited about this opportunity to step outside of our box and be able to bring you stuff from companies (like Baker) that we might not have a direct line into.
What I've always admired about Baker is that their shit is honestly, unquestionably raw. What starts with the team flows down to the videos, the ads, the graphics and just everything about it says raw skateboarding. With the business side handled properly by the fine folks at Blitz Distribution, Andrew and his team are given the freedom to basically do what they want to do however they want to do it.
Below is a 7 minute epsiode of Patrick O'Dell's Epicly Later'd show on VBS.tv where Andrew discusses his company, it's philosophies and it's crew. Awesome:
The board and wheels shown above are available exclusively through Active Mailorder.
